In this post, we will be discussing the device that will accompany us on our DevRel journey. Unlike previous purchases, this time I had to make a quick decision with limited options. I settled on a Chromebook, which I knew had its limitations but was within my budget. The Chromebook runs on ChromeOS, an internet-only operating system that is different from Windows and MacOs. Despite the limitations, Chromebooks are a popular choice, with over 50 million units sold between 2021 and 2022 according to Statista.com.
Switching to a Chromebook can be a challenge, but it also has its benefits. One of the main benefits is its low energy consumption, making it perfect for those who are always on the go. Additionally, it works like a smartphone, requiring an internet connection to work optimally.
Given my €300 budget, I was able to purchase a second-hand Chromebook for €249.01 on Amazon's Warehouse. Although the charger was missing, I was fortunate enough to have USB-C chargers lying around 😉.

For those who are interested in the technical specifications of my Chromebook, Acer Italia has provided detailed information on their website.
Now we have our device.
In our next post, we will be testing Chromebook's capabilities. The goal is to use the Chromebook exclusively for all my tasks.
Stay tuned for more updates on our DevRel journey
